Shifting Story Sharing
I was an active member of the 21st Century Explorers Global Community.
Jillian Reilly is the ex-founder of Antacara Frontiers and the community host.
Every week we gathered together over a live video conversation and via Connectle, which Mara Tolja hosted. The week was about mapping our paths into the unknown, and the co-hosts were Jillian and Moyra Mackie.

After a long day working remotely on a project with a small team, I was quiet primarily and recalibrating. I enjoyed the community call.
I observed and listened to the participants’ insights, stories, and experiences as if we were around a campfire. My mic was muted—my camera on. I did not use the chat.
Instead, I jump into the live call. I was observing and mulling over thoughts and questions.
I appreciated the writing and drawing exercises enabled and encouraged by Moyra. Brainwriting, sketching, drawing on your own with people. What a creative and fun way to learn and make sense together!
I took notes with my pen and a piece of paper. It was messy. The two writing exercises helped me relax and make sense of one of my personal stories.
The day after the live call Klara Loots, a fellow explorer and ex-creative marketing manager from Antacara Frontiers, got back to me with Jillian to ask if sharing my visual paper notes would be ok.
During the live community conversation I did show my paper notes to a few participants. My correspondence with Klara continued over digital correspondences through words and scans of my visual notes.
Klara intended to turn my messy paper sketchnotes into digital artefacts with her creative, unique and artful signature. We built on each other strengths and creativity. Check out below the magnificent artefacts from moi x Klara.

Second Writing & Drawing Exercise
As Jillian guided us one word at a time, we each picked one story in our lives.
I decided to revisit my learning journey until now. What does it look like?

Impact of Social Learning Handbook x Workshop on moi
Back in the day, Jane Hart (@C4LPT) inspired me to shift as I share in this visual note and later with her over tweets.
“Thanks for sharing, @rotanarotana. Great to see C4LPT on it, and how it has helped you. https://twitter.com/rotanarotana/status/1259352013017579521” — @C4LPT
My gratitude to Jane Hart:
With pleasure. Your social learning handbook and workshop have triggered mindset, behaviour and skills shifts for sure. :) — @rotanarotana
Visual thinking is one of the ways to make sense of ourselves and our world. As a word person and visual thinker, it is one of my routines.
